Melissa Mermin has been exposing love stories with her camera around the world since 1994. She holds a fine art BFA degree in painting from Massachusetts College of Art, studied photojournalism at New England School of Photography and worked under several Boston Globe photographers.
Her images have been seen regularly in wedding publications and books since 1998 and a recent wedding was featured in Inside Weddings magazine. She also wrote an article for the Ask The Experts column on how to hire a wedding photographer. Her work, philosophy and shooting techniques are featured in the book Wedding Photography Unveiled: Inspiration and Insight from 20 Top Photographers (PDN Press/2008).
Some of Melissa's favorite destination wedding spots include The Tides resort in Mexico, The Naples Beach Club in Florida, Namale resort in Fiji, Beaulieu Garden in Napa, and Rosecliff Mansion in Newport, Rhode Island. She grew up on Long Island and lived in Boston for most of her life. However, she realized a few years ago she left her heart in San Francisco, but came back to retrieve it in baggage claim and decided to stay.
